Resumo: The study is linked to the research line “Languages, Culture and Knowledge Construction: Historical and Contemporary Perspectives” and has as its theme a reflection on childhood, as represented in the book O Menino Maluquinho and consequences for educational studies. This work by Ziraldo was chosen for its impact on Brazilian and school culture: when completing 40 years of the 1st edition in 1980, 4 million copies had been sold, in 129 editions. The general objective is to examine in the discursive production of O Menino Maluquinho enunciations about childhood and how they impact reflections on education. As specific objectives, the following are listed: Reflect on Bakhtin's enunciative theory; Analyze the traditional and scientific conceptions of childhood that date from the beginnings of modernity to contemporary scientific conceptions and the proposals of social studies of childhood; To analyze the dialogizing scenario in which the book O Menino Maluquinho is inserted, considering the Bakhtinian triad subject of discourse (author) / object of discourse (book) / interlocutors (readers); Reflect on aspects of school routines present in the narrative; Identify to what extent the enunciative positions also do not reproduce sayings about childhood that perpetuate traditional views of submission of small actors to adult government. The methodological arrangement seeks contributions in the Theory of the Enunciation, by Bakhtin and the Circle. The analyzes count, in addition to these, with names such as Marcuschi (2002), Faraco (2009), Dionísio (2014), expanding the concepts of enunciation and dialogism e Corsaro (2011), among others, regarding reflections on childhood. The theoretical effort reaffirms the defense of the rights of our little citizens to social protagonism, autonomy, expression, freedom, among others, which are routinely degraded and that the enunciation of O Menino Maluquinho, in its complexity and literary richness, denounces more clearly in the school context. The child materialized in Ziraldo's book gives voice to millions of girls and boys, represented there in their uniqueness, actors of their destiny.
