Resumo: This interdisciplinary work aims to analyze theoretically the movement of rupture performed by literary journalism in relation to traditional journalistic discourse: a research effort to understand intersections of journalism and language. Traditional journalistic discourse is conceived as the result of a series of techniques that standardized text based in the institutionalization of modern journalism. Contemporary literary journalism emerged contesting ideological and formal concepts underpinning traditional journalistic enunciation. Poetic potential of renovation of language is accommodated by literary journalism in order to relativize textual models, diversifying narrative paths. Thus, main marks of estrangement between these forms of journalism are underlined placing literature as essential for this traffic. In addition to the formal plan, research approaches of social meanings built by literary journalism, such as "complexity" and "humanization", an idea that communication produces culture. The methodology employed is the literature review and the analysis of the narrative "O Livro Amarelo do Terminal", which illustrates theoretical concepts presented in the dissertation.
