Resumo: The objective of this work is to evaluate the quality of eggs originating from commercial laying hens with different strains. at three ages (40, 70 and 103). 300 eggs originating from the Hy-Line W80®, Hy Line W36® strains were used, for each analysis carried out at different ages, 60 eggs per strain were used, totaling 150 eggs. The design used was completely randomized (DIC), with two treatments (Line Hy-Line W80®, Hy Line W36®) and 60 replications, with the experimental plot consisting of one egg. The evaluated variables were: egg weight, % albumen, % yolk, % shell, haugh unit, yolk index, shell thickness and strength. The data were examined by analysis of variance, in the comparisons of means used Tukey's test at 5% significance (p<0.05). For an analysis at 40 weeks of age, eggs from the Hy Line W36® strain showed the best results for egg weight, yolk percentage and haugh unit. In the 40-week analysis, eggs from the Hy Line W36® strain were superior in egg weight, shell percentage, breaking strength and Haugh unit. In the analysis carried out at 103 weeks, egg weight, shell strength, albumen percentage and haugh unit were the best for the Hy Line W36® strain. Being able to conclude that the strain Hy Line W36 presented better physical parameters in comparison to another strain studied.
