Resumo: | Violence against women carries structural gender configurations that make them a complex phenomenon of understanding in social structures. In the escalation of violence are feminicides, which show similar characteristics in different localities, because they are linked to sexual, classand racial inequalities within the power relations based on patriarchal tradition. Such particularities lead to the need for social recognition of femicides, as a result of the misogynistic and discriminatory practice of men about women in gender organization. Murders of women are not isolated cases, outside the ongoing process of violence that limits the development of women in society. The question of this research seeks to answer whether "feminicide in the continuous process of violence, is a preventable act?" What seems as a response is in coping with violence that aggravates feminicides, by the execution of public policies in services directed at women and authors, trust in the public security system and criminal justice; applicability of legislation; transformation of masculinities and femininities in the face of social change; and also social and institutional recognition. This research works with two main theoretical currents, power relations and patriarchal power, which help in explaining the modus of production of violence against women that result in the most serious form, feminicides. It uses the methodology of content analysis to investigate surveys of attempts of feminicides in the municipality of Várzea Grande in the years 2016 and 2017, as well as a questionnaire applied to the police officials to evaluate the reception given to women in the police sphere, the services available in the repression, assistance and prevention of violence and its final stage - feminicides. |
