This paper presents a proposal for solving mathematical problems using symmetry. We will work initially with concepts related to the topic aforementioned, followed by activi- ties that include some content of the Elementary School and High School and show the symmetry in its results. We will also highlight two sequences of activities: the first one with games in which having knowledge about symmetry may determine the winner, and the second one, with games and playful activities present in our daily lives. Finally, we will discuss the incidence of symmetry questions at the National Secondary Education Examination (ENEM) and at the Brazilian Public School Math Olympics - OBMEP.
