Resumo: This thesis is linked to the Study and Research Group on Work and Education (GEPTE) of the Graduate Program in Education (PPGE) of the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT). The text is the synthesis of the research carried out in the traditional community of peasants called São Manoel do Pari, located in the municipality of Nossa Senhora do Livramento - MT. In this research, two categories will be the historical premises to be observed and analyzed: work and education; which other categories will dialectically link presenting their structures, processes and contradictions: associated and self-managed production, agroecological production, traditional knowledge and experience, work culture, education, territory. In addition to concepts such as: custom, tradition, solidarity, collectivity, autonomy, dialogue, balance, cooperation, self-determination. It is experiences like these experienced in everyday life that build the expanded production of life producing, from generation to generation, materially and immaterially the existence in the balanced transformation of nature, using traditional knowledge and experience, in the search for satisfaction of their needs. With the intention of satisfying needs and overcoming limitations, they and they organize themselves in a family, associated and self-managed way to transform nature, respecting, whenever possible, agroecological principles. They are historical determinations of its material and immaterial production of existence that it is possible to perceive another way of: production, distribution, exchange and consumption; intentionalities and uses of knowledge; relate to the territory and nature; thinking about teaching-learning at school; experience the culture of work. From these experienced singularities, the characteristics that are hegemonic to the logic of capital are constituted and alternatives to the same logic, directing paths towards a society of freely associated producers. Thus, the objective of this text is to identify in the complexity of the material and immaterial production of the life of the traditional community of São Manoel do Pari counter-hegemonic experiences and alternatives to the logic of capital. For this thesis, the historical and dialectical materialism method and elements of participatory research were used, using lectures, meetings, seminars, interviews, conversation circles, dialogues and participation in the daily life of the community, notes in field diaries, photos and videos.
