Resumo: | This research aims to investigate the ideas of the substantive concepts of democracy by high school students. There were 225 high school students from 3 public schools in Guarapuava/PR taking part in this study. This research is theoretically anchored in the research field of Historical Education, in which the historical ideas presented by the apprentices assume a relevant position for the achievement of significant historical learning. The methodology used in collecting, analyzing, and categorizing the data was the Grounded Theory - Grounded Theory. The field study was carried out in four stages at different times between 2018 and 2019. At first, some data were collected regarding the students' socioeconomic and cultural aspects to raise the research subjects' profile. Later, the data collection referred to the ideas that the participants presented about the substantive concept of democracy, the discipline of History, and other concepts referring to social participation, which somehow touch the theme of democracy. Based on the analysis carried out, the most relevant aspects linked to the idea of the substantive concept of democracy by the samples and its possible relations with the discipline of History were mapped. |
