Resumo: | This dissertation has the purpose of comprehending the construction of the city of Jerusalem in the writings of Flavius Josephus (37-100 CE). Consisting of two parts, the research pursuits to present two faces of Jerusalem that is visualized in the writings these Jew. In the first moment we analyze some aspects of the history of Jerusalem and of its Temple through of information from historic narratives of Flavius Josephus as well as positive qualities awarded to the city. In the second part we reflect about last years of Jerusalem and of its Temple and of the destruction of both in 70 CE by Roman soldiers as well as negative attributes of Jerusalem referenced in the Bellum Judaicum. Examine of the textual documentation happens from the propositions of the Urban Cultural History, aiming at the recovery of discourses and representations of Jerusalem and of the Temple in Flavius Josephus. |
