This study aimed to evaluate the initial growth of non-commercial clones of teak in southwestern Mato Grosso, test regression models for growth and determine the morphological characteristics that allow the distinction of these materials. The experiment was installed in 2011 in the municipality of Caceres, MT. We evaluated the growth in total height, diameter at breast height, basal area and cross-sectional area. For the morphological characterization of the bole were evaluated the number of internodes per linear meter, and to the leaves, area, length, width, dry weight, surface area, density, reflectance, and the number of glandular trichomes per area and their variation in the abaxial face. The clones showed adaptation to the characteristics of the site, similar growth and there are models that are suited to express the initial growth. It was not possible to distinguish the studied clones with the studied morphological characteristics.
