Resumo: Cuiabá city, located in a tropical area of South America, is a highlight in the national scene given your high temperatures throughout the year and its fast growth in the latest decades, resulting in an expansion of your perimeter and the development of urban activities which caused climate changes evidenced in many studies. The aim of this piece of work has been to compare the climate variations using the soil from the surroundings of two public schools in Cuiabá/MT. The methodology used was based in data gathered throughout the year – from February 2011 to January 2012, daily and hourly accordingly to the climate variations (average temperatures, highest and lowest, relative humidity, wind and rain speed) obtained through the fixed and automatic weather stations installed in the Padre Ernesto Camilo Barreto School (located in the east area of Cuiaba) and in the Nossa Senhora Aparecida School (situated in the west area). The results collected showed microclimates diferences between the two areas. The figures gathered from Padre Ernesto School presented as mostly heated and dried in comparison with the surroundings of the Nossa Senhora Aparecida School. It was found that the usage of soil from different areas of the city entails in different microclimates.
