Resumo: | The present study is a result of the Master's Dissertation in Psychology developed at the Júlio Müller University Hospital in Cuiabá / MT. The aim of the research was to investigate the use of the digital game Hospital Mirim, interactive digital therapeutic toy, as a facilitator for the strategy of coping with the invasive procedure (IP) of blood collection. The child who goes through hospitalization or hospitalization may have the pain caused by the illness itself, by the treatment, by the invasive procedures, with the possibility of developing behaviors such as fear, stress and anxiety. The use of play activities in this context aims to minimize the effects of painful processes, developing processes of playfulness, learning, recreation and distraction, considered humanization strategies for the hospital context. A total of 40 children aged 6 to 10 years participated in the study, 20 of the control group (after the game after collection) and 20 of the experimental group (they went through the game before collection), randomly drawn. The following instruments were used: a) to evaluate the perception of pain the Faces Pain Scale-Revised, Faces Pain Scale-Revised, b) for the evaluation of the game were conducted semi-structured interviews before and after the procedure; c) Hospital Mirim digital game. With the parents or guardians, an instrument was applied: Behavior Checklist for children and adolescents 6 to 18 years old - Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL) and a semistructured interview. The results allowed to verify: a) significant correlation between "Perception of pain during" and "Concurrent Behavior" in both groups; b) during the intervention there was a significant correlation between invasive procedure and competing behaviors. In general, it was verified that use of play strategies during an invasive procedure allows the child to adapt to the situation of invasive procedure. |
