Resumo: | Our objective was to carry out research on the (in)visibility of gypsy people and their interfaces in the face of the climate crisis. Through conceptual studies and interviews, we establisched connections between environmental education, climate justice and ways of protecting gypsies, a group in a vulnerable situation. We have as a methodological contribution the cartography of the imaginary, which is based on the phenomenology of Gaston Bachelard, relating the phases of constitution of this researcher connected to the four elements (water, earth, fire and air). The research considered the context of the of the Kalon gypsies to understand their identity, habits, lived habitats and the challenges of being a gypsy. By conducting open interviews with Kalon gypsies, I understood how they perceive the climate emergency and how the process of environmental destruction impacts Gypsy life. According to dialogues held with Kalon gypsies, climate collapses compromise survival, resulting in a sudden negative interference in the construction of gypsy knowledge. In addition to physical losses, they also face discrimination, prejudice, racism and difficulties in social inclusion. If gypsies were once known as wanderers, this scenario is undergoing complete change, as ecological destruction intervenes in nomadic life, historically intrinsic to the ways of life of gypsies and gypsies. The research supported the thesis that it is necessary to give visibility to the gypsy existence, which not only resists cultural prejudices, but is also impacted by climatic and environmental dimensions. Thus, the thesis in environmental education sought to promote the debate on climate justice, that is, to build pedagogical paths so that public policies are more sensitive to social inclusion and ecological protection, allowing gypsy groups to maintain their autonomy of life, both in their fixed territories, or in those territories covered in the long journey of doing, thinking, feeling and being a gypsy. |
