Resumo: In view of the increase in remote work, whether motivated by the natural evolution of many areas of activity or by the social distance caused, for example, in pandemic times, it is noted that relationships have expanded from face-to-face to the virtual scope. Human beings essentially need to cultivate relationships to maintain their emotional balance. In view of this, such expansion into the virtual world requires greater attention, and therefore, it is crucial to create and maintain long-distance relationships to continue the evolution of communities and their activities in general. The academic community was already demanding changes in the continuity of its activities. With the evolution of distance learning (EaD) and the adherence to remote learning, motivated by the demands of social distance, such changes become even more latent, especially as virtual approaches gain more and more supporters, the technological generations. With that in mind, this work proposes the creation of UniversityLife, a proposal for a social network appropriate to the academic environment, with a view to improving connection, interaction, strengthening relationships between its individuals and fostering mutual collaboration between them. The emergence of digital social innovation tools such as UniversityLife, comes to assist in the academic evolutionary process, improve emotional aspects, prevent dropout and reduce dropout rates in higher education. The proposal includes studies by sampling on the institutional reality of the Federal University of Mato Grosso, with regard to the reception, well-being and permanence of these individuals in the academic community, seeking to promote greater social involvement, provide emotional support and join efforts in the struggle to reduce dropout rates in higher education. In order to achieve its objectives, the work presents bibliographic foundations, with prospective surveys, analysis in mapping of institutional processes by sampling, creation of visual identity and production of artifacts and modeling for software engineering, all focused on the conception of UniversityLife . The products generated by this work consist of: market prospection in survey of open source software to create social networks; market prospecting in survey of social networks; market prospection in surveying technologies for the multiplatform development of software; mapping institutional processes and proposing improvements for the reception, well-being and permanence of academic members at UFMT; development of visual identity with trademark registration with the INPI; low-fidelity prototyping of some screens to experiment with the visual identity and positioning of system modules icons; specification of functionalities and innovation modules to compose UniversityLife. Finally, the result is a product of digital social innovation, with a solid foundation in its conception, permeating future paths in the development, implementation and distribution of UniversityLife.
