Resumo: | This research addresses the study of the influence of hierarchy and management models and practices on the organizational commitment of its workers from the perspective of the sociology of organizations. The object of research is the commerce and services sector of the municipality of Sinop / MT, represented by 2 (two) segments of activity with a greater number of active companies, namely the retail trade of clothing and food. The study focuses efforts in order to answer the question: How do relations and management practices influence organizational commitment? The hypotheses suggested point to the ratification of the relationship between the level of hierarchy, companies with more command and less presence of dialogue and the types of commitment studied. In the first hypothesis (H1) ‘Organizations that adopt more hierarchical management models tend to develop the types of normative Organizational Commitment (a); (b) instrumental in its employees’. On the other hand, the hypothesis (H2) ‘Organizations that adopt less hierarchical management models tend to develop affective organizational commitment in their employees’. The desired objective would be to identify correlations between how to manage an organization and the main types of organizational commitment - affective, instrumental and normative. The investigation is based on qualitative and quantitative methodological procedures, systematic literature review, application of semi-structured questionnaires and use of analysis software. The basis for theoretical understanding of the results found is the Theory of Rational Choice. As a result, it is observed that organizations with a higher degree of hierarchy reflect the types of instrumental and normative commitment in their workers. It is possible to verify the strong presence of affective commitment in organizations with a lower degree of hierarchy in their management models, which makes it possible to understand the social relationships between workers and the organizations that employ them, in addition to raising a posteriori studies in order to enable new perspectives about the theme. |
