Resumo: This study is part of the construction of the Dissertation of master research in Education, linked to the Graduate Program in Education at the Federal University of Mato Grosso – PPGE/UFMT, wich chief aims to know a child´s imagination under the influence of television media in the contemporary playful culture. And with the realization of research, in a specifically way, it‘s pretended to identifing how the children from Child Education relate to contemporary culture, list the games made by students in school and playful spaces and record the influence and significance of the cartoon in the children's imagination. For this, the study was based on a qualitative research, of the kind of ethnographic research, interpretive imprint, with twenty-two students, encompassing eleven boys and eleven girls from age five, the last level from Child Education, of a school the municipal public school, located in the city of Cuiabá / MT. For this, the research included semi-structured interview, systematic and unsystematic observations of speech and behavior at school, narrative episodes and photographic records as tools for data collection during the second half of 2011. Analysis of the data are structured into categories of coding, which involves sharing of data by categories, according to the approximation of the answers provided by research subjects, the junction with the vision of researcher and the essence of the researcher's theoretical framework, thus forming the triangulation data. From the discussions and reflections made during the analysis, it was realized that contemporary culture is possessed of the plays that move between the imaginary and the playful actions, functioning as a reflection of what they imagine in their movements translated into all kinds of plays cited. And to know the repertoire of playful children revealed the great influence of the cartoons as products that have common references than they consume in their daily lives, however, contrary to what one thinks, watch and play actively. Show a link between traditional games, symbolic, contemporary, structuring and combining its facets, giving rise to associated games, contextualized and updated. For the subjects, the place to make the play of preference is the home and school environment, however, are always accompanied by the playful cartoon influence, reflected in their play. And these play plus drawings sounds like something secret, which seems never to have been told to an adult, revealing their playful experiences and the power of imagination, especially when depicting the imaginative moments, their hidden desires of fusion and idealization of characters, consolidating the environment and the meaning of the cartoon for children play culture. Through those investigations, it became possible to offer an opportunity to know the playful experiences of childhood and the emersion the different sensations of children in their leisure moments, of which the cartoon is present in the play, the imaginary, providing images and playful elements of more varied, reflecting protean possibilities of playing and contributing to the current play culture. Therefore, research on a broader view about the child's imagination currently, enables us to interact with what children see and play, and thus identify the repertoire of contemporary children's play in varied playful spaces and use its various avatars. In other words, it is suggested that we can see a playful knowledge through the imagination mirror and the physical states of play.
