Resumo: | The Ecuadorian territory is divided into four natural regions: the coastal lowlands, the andean highlands, the Amazon basin and the Galapagos Islands. Additionally, 350 bibliographic references were reviewed for the historical analysis of this group of beetles. This study was based on the examination of 13.538 scarabaeines.
