Resumo: | This research aims to discuss Religious Culture and the Festival of São Benedito in the Mutuca Community, Mata Cavalo Territory, in the municipality of Nossa Senhora do Livramento, MT. The research has a qualitative approach (Minayo, 2001), involving observation andparticipation in all procedures for holding the party, as well as in the party itself. Participant observation was considered from the perspective of May (2001), observing everything that happened at the event. Interviews were carried out with elders working in the studied community and with party-goers at the party held in January 2024. From the data collected, it was found that the Saint Benedict festival has undergone transformations over the years to adapt to the preferences of the contemporarypublic. without losing its meaning in the community. Its importance is preserved in the memories and practices of the elders living in the community. |
