Resumo: When dealing with Biology Teaching for the explanation of content related to protozoa, the approach to the issue in health and the diseases that can be caused by these microorganisms, specifically American Cutaneous Leishmaniasis (ACL) and American Visceral Leishmaniasis (LVA), becomes very complex. The structures are micrometric, and the students do not internalize their morphology and the specific characteristics of these microorganisms, making it difficult to understand the diseases and how they can affect them individually and collectively. What alternatives would teachers have to bring this knowledge closer to students and facilitate their understanding? As a way of helping teachers in this matter, an Investigative Didactic Sequence (SDI) was developed, to contribute to the pedagogical practice, assisting in the actions of the teacher in the teaching of Biology about the protozoa that cause American Cutaneous Leishmaniasis (ACL) and American Visceral Leishmaniasis (AVL). The Investigative Didactic Sequence was submitted for analysis by a group of 20 (twenty) Biology teachers from the Public Education Network of the State of Mato Grosso - MT, to raise their opinions regarding its importance as a strategy in the teaching-learning process.
