Resumo: | This thesis is the result of a study about non-human and human animals in the context of Mato-grossense Pantanal´s tourism, developed in the region of Pocóné (MT) and along the Transpantaneira highway. It is an interdisciplinary work and it is divided into three studies based on the theories of animal rights and animal studies. The study investigates the depiction of non-human animals in the media, based on the content analysis of audiovisual documentaries, and in advertising, based on the case study methodology, in order to reflect on the imaginary constructed regarding their relations with the human animals and their role in the behaviors and points of view assumed by tourists. Using the concepts of multispecies ethnography and the sociology of everyday life, fieldwork was also carried out focusing on the relationships between human and non-human animals in tourism in the Pantanal Mato-grossense, discussing the encounters between species and practices such as food bait and physical interaction / manipulation. From the data obtained, a discussion was drawn about the media influence on the forms of consideration that tourists dedicate to non-human animals and the need for public policies that effectively regulate observation practices such as the importance of inserting non-human animals. in the ethical sphere of the media. |
