Resumo: The State of Mato Grosso has suffered extensive deforestation and changes in the environment to use the land as cultivation of crops like soybeans and corn, in addition to receiving the intense migration of workers from other parts of the country to work on these plantations, these factors contributed to injuries health problems related to vectors and wild hosts such as hantavirus, which can manifest itself in two ways: Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome (HFRS) and hantavirus cardiopulmonary syndrome (SCPH), however in Brazil SCPH is the predominant due the association with Sigmodontíneos rodents. Transmission is via aerosols from the excreta of these wild rodents. The aim of the study was to perform a serologic survey for hantavirus in residents of the Middle Araguaia region in acute phase samples from febrile patients. ELISA was used serological test for hantaviruses identification, and a complete blood count of the individual. 209 serum samples were collected, we used the ELISA method in house to determine IgM and IgG antibodies in samples from febrile patients to identify hantavirus, there was a prevalence of 7%, the female and the most affected in this range, child and elderly are the most affected and described symptoms such as headache, nausea / vomiting, diarrhea, body aches in general and in their laboratory tests a slight anemia, low number of red blood cells, hemoglobin and hematocrit decrease in rate and a high amount of leukocytes, mainly of targeted cells.
