Resumo: This paper deals with an investigation that aims to identify if there is the presence of stereotypes and violence against the LGBTQIA+ community in articles published by the portal Campo Grande News (Campo Grande - MS). The research analyzes journalistic content in general, either in the reporter's text or in the interviewees' statements. The paper addresses the context of social representations and LGBTQIA+ identity, stereotypes, context of violence in the media, homophobia and online journalism. The methodology used was Content Analysis (BARDIN, 1977) and data analysis was done quantitatively and qualitatively. Forty-nine reports were found, of which 07 were selected for the analysis, from January 1 to December 31, 2019, totaling 12 months. This process was born from a floating reading about violence against the LGBTQIA+ community in Brazilian news portals and based on the results already obtained in a course conclusion paper. It was possible to identify through the theoretical and material body the lack of statistical data by the State aimed at violations of rights of LGBTQIA+ community, as well as the violence suffered by it. It was through content analysis that it became possible to clearly highlight the reality of most respondents in the subjects. The research also revealed that the theme still presents a misrepresented view of society regarding the LGBTQIA+ community. Keywords: Community LGBTQIA+, Homophobia, Campo Grande News, Violence.
