Resumo: |
Professionalizing health management is essential to improve work processes and ensure effective performance of the Health System, especially in the care of Noncommunicable Chronic Conditions. The aim of the present study was to describe the profile of managers and the organization of health actions for people with overweight/obesity, high blood pressure, and diabetes mellitus in Mato Grosso do Sul based on a formally established technical area. This is a descriptive-exploratory, cross-sectional, and quantitative study using an online self assessment questionnaire to municipal health managers about their knowledge and organization of health services. The variables were described in absolute and relative frequencies. To compare municipalities with formally established managers with those without, Fisher's exact test was applied (significance level of 5%). The majority were female and white, and 59% of the municipalities did not have a technical manager for Chronic Conditions or lines of care for diabetes (52%), high blood pressure (46%), and overweight/obesity (57%). Having formally established coordination was associated with greater participation in decision-making processes and care actions and proved essential for the implementation of care policies for high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus and overweight/obesity. |
