Resumo: |
Considering the conflicts and strengths of the modern-colonial heritage existing in the history and practices of Brazilian heritage preservation, the objective of this study is to analyze how the Cemitério dos Heróis heritage, located in Jardim, Mato Grosso do Sul, is recognized, appropriated, and resignified by local actors. The methodological course took place in the interpretation of the different languages and appropriations about the cemetery. To do so, from a perspective of the cultural landscape and decolonial heritage education, we carried out the analysis of official minutes about the listing, interviews with public authorities, semi-structured interaction for the local community and teachers from the state network of the municipality. The results disappointed that the path of patrimonialization of the space reproduced the Eurocentric epistemic model, and that given that, the feeling of belonging of the community towards the heritage, is not present. In addition, we conclude that, currently, the space is recognized for its historical tradition, however, it is not appropriated or resignified by local actors, which proves the theory that "knowing to preserve" is not a single support for the tribe of goods in the relationship between subject and heritage, therefore, the adoption of a decolonial heritage education that considers the otherness and ecology of knowledge in the formation and construction of counter-hegemonic heritage is proposed.
