This work aims to study the resocialization of detainees at the Gameleira Penal and Agroindustrial Center in Campo Grande MS, a semi-open regime and a national reference in resocialization. The rehabilitation of prisoners is a much discussed topic in society, mainly due to its inefficiency shown by the high rate of return of former prisoners to the prison system. In order to understand how the rehabilitation of prisoners in this prison works, first, we will be approaching a study on social inequality, which is understood as an important factor for entering the world of crime. Second, the work will survey the reality of prisons in our country and its prison population through graphs and data surveys carried out by the prison system in our country. Finally, through the ethnographic method, we will be carrying out field work at the CPAIG, knowing the whole structure used for the resocialization of detainees and through structured interviews, information and observations, a dense description will be made of the entire process used for the resocialization of prisoners in this institution.
