Resumo: |
This dissertation presents data and guidelines from a master's research project linked to the Postgraduate Program in Mathematics Education (PPGEduMat) at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS), in the "teaching and learning" line of research. Our aim is to answer the following question: How can mathematical modeling, combined with the use of technology, contribute to the teaching of mathematics in the early years of elementary school? To answer this research question, we developed two Mathematical Modeling activities enhanced with the use of technology with a fourth grade class in the early years of a rural, public school in the municipal network of the capital of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. Our perspective on modeling is that of Dionísio Burak, i.e. a teaching methodology that, within educational practice, is a set of procedures whose aim is to establish a parallel to try to explain, mathematically, the phenomena present in the daily lives of human beings, helping them to make predictions and decisions. With regard to technology, we combined some resources with activities, using a digital application and mathematical software to build knowledge. Our research is qualitative and interpretive in nature and is divided into four chapters, as well as an introduction, final considerations and bibliographical references. Keywords: Mathematical modeling. Digital technology. Early years of elementary school. |
