Resumo: Wildfires caused by human activity are one of the most significant environmental issues in many ecosystems, resulting in a reduction in biological diversity and an increase in local extinctions. However, in some ecosystems, fire plays an important role in ecological dynamics. In some ecosystems, fire acts as an important element in ecological dynamics. In the case of the Pantanal and Cerrado, environments called pyrophytic, fire is a naturally seasonal process that shapes the dynamics of animal and plant communities. This study aimed to analyze the influence of fire on bird communities. A qualitative and quantitative survey of bird species was conducted using the point-count method in ten different treatment phases and two distinct environments, as well as in different frequencies of burning. The objective was to understand how bird communities, composed of their functional attributes, respond to fire regimes. The study found that fire significantly affected the bird community, particularly when compared across different frequencies and intensities of burning, showing distinct responses in forested and grassland environments, and consequently affecting the functional traits of present species.
