Resumo: This research addresses an integrated production and distribution planning problem observed in some production environments, such as food, foundry, and furniture industries. We suppose an industrial environment with the following characteristics: sequence independent setup times and costs; relevant inventory holding costs; a single production line; homogeneous vehicles fleet for distribution of the produced items; indivisible orders; demand choice flexibility and delivery time windows. The problem consists of determining which customer orders should be accepted for production and which period of their respective time windows the orders will be fulfilled, as well as how much to produce of each product in each period and the delivery routes of the vehicles used for distribution. This work presents the mixed integer optimization mathematical model developed to represent the problem. And it analyzes the computational results achieved through the computational study carried out with instances, based on real scenarios, to evaluate the performance of the branch-and-bound algorithm in solving the model after its implementation in the high-performance IBM ILOG Cplex software.
