Resumo: Through this study, with a qualitative approach, with descriptive and exploratory objectives, and of an applied nature, a possibility of an interface between some concepts of Ecology and a comic book (comic book) was established. For such a relationship, we proposed a potentially significant material for the construction of ecological concepts about Food Chains based on the Theory of Meaningful Learning (TAS). We aim to develop a material that can be related to the student's prior knowledge, unedited from the didactic point of view of teaching ecology, easy to disseminate, adaptable by the teacher and that brings contributions to the field of Science Teaching. To do so, we initially carried out a bibliographic survey about the main difficulties of students regarding the Food Chain content and also identified the strategies and didactic approaches used in teaching the content in focus, the most used in Natural Sciences and Biology classes, identified in the works, there were educational games, dynamics, practical activities, videos and other visual resources. Taking into account the thematic possibilities that involve the content in focus, the use of different strategies makes the classes more engaging and interesting, and this is exactly where the Comics are. Comics represent an interesting possibility in teaching the Food Chain content. Thus, we planned and developed a material entitled “Comic Food Chain”, with the potential to promote significant learning about this content. Furthermore, aiming to facilitate the teaching action in the use of this material, we have also created a Didactic Guide, called “Teaching the Food Chain through the resources of the comics”. We believe that teachers will find in these materials several methodological suggestions so that they can choose and adapt them according to their reality. As a perspective to continue this research, we aim to work with the developed material and share it, promoting the dissemination of the theme of comics in research in Science Education, and to present the results found in this study in the context of continuing teacher education, seeking encourage a teaching practice with a view to contributing to the teaching and learning process of students.
