Based on the existing social diversity, it is necessary to understand that more equality and access to rights will hardly happen in a simplistic and homogeneous way. It will possibly confirm complexities that cross over the constitution of a social, historical and political individual. We will consider black women who, given the specificities of their history, claim for equal rights related to their vicissitudes. In this study about black feminism, intersectionality concept will be used as an analytical resource. It is discussed aspects such as the black women subjectivity. They have been not only oppressed by the deceiving inherent structures in the capitalist system that impact their economic and social reality, but also their mental health. The methodological procedures will be cultural languages research of the biography and artistic production from the singer Elza Soares. Based on Cultural Studies perspectives, her contributions will be analysed for the anti-sexist, anti-racist and decolonial studies and movements.
