Resumo: The hypothesis of this study was that the quality of sleep of health professionals in urgent and emergency services associated with occupational fatigue, a condition exacerbated by the shift work in these sectors, had a negative and direct influence on the quality of life of these professionals, as well as the objective was to evaluate the sleep quality of health professionals from the Urgent and Emergency Services in the Emergency Care Unit and Mobile Emergency Care Service sectors in the city of Três Lagoas/MS, and to correlate with the level of fatigue and the quality of sleep. of life. Descriptive, cross-sectional and correlational exploratory study with 163 participants. For data collection, five questionnaires were used: the first with sociodemographic and health information; the second for sleep quality assessment - the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI); the following about the level of fatigue by the Chalder Fatigue Scale in conjunction with the Need for Rest Scale (ENEDE); and finally, the WHO quality of life questionnaire (WHOQOL-bref). The study population consisted of nursing technicians, nurses and doctors who worked directly in health care in the referred service. Data were entered into the Microsoft Excel® program and later transferred to the Statistical Package for the Social Science® program (SPSS 25.0) for statistical analysis. Pearson's chisquare test, the Mann Whitney or Kruskal Wallis test were used depending on the type of variable and the number of groups analyzed, as well as the Spearman correlation. The study was approved by the UFMS Research Ethics Committee. The results showed that 72.2% of the participants are classified as bad sleepers and 75.9% are fatigued. It was observed that the worsening of fatigue is related to poor sleep quality, as a result of irregularity in rest hours. Among the positions, 30.1% correspond to the class of nurses who have a greater need for rest. The predominant age group is between 18 and 35 years old and also female. The Environment domain showed a lower correlation with the perception of health in the analysis of quality of life. It was found that the worse the quality of sleep, the worse the quality of life. It was concluded that health professionals who work in urgency and emergency services have poor sleep and quality of life, since they have high levels of fatigue that directly impacts the performance of their activities, both professional and personal.
