Resumo: |
Climate change caused by human activities already affects adverse conditions and climatic extremes across the planet and it is in urban areas that microclimate changes resulting from human actions are most significant. As human activities directly influence the microclimate on a large and small scale, such as Heat Islands (IC), for example, are consequences of urban climate change and are characterized by the concentration of urban elements that capture and store heat. However, trees have the natural power to regulate surface temperatures, improving the quality of urban life and harming direct and indirect urban environmental impacts. In this way, the objective is to identify and map 11 study areas of cluster fragments predominantly in the urban area of Aquidauana (MS) in order to establish relationships with the thermal structure regarding the characteristics of IC and urban coolness between the periods of 2013 and 2022 based on the comparison of use and occupancy maps, vegetation index (NDVI) and surface temperature index (TS). The urban expansion was not significant in terms of extension, as it did not exceed the established limits of the urban area defined in the Master Plan, however, Heat Islands were identified in the Expoção, Nova Aquidauana and São Francisco neighborhoods, where consequently the NDVI presents very low values , between 0.16 and -0.40 currently (2021). The IC probably identified the forms of use and occupation, such as low vegetation cover, burning, vehicle circulation and asphalt paving. |
