Resumo: |
By carrying out studies that aim to find energy efficiency solutions for the operation of water supply systems, it is possible to significantly reduce electricity costs in supply companies. With this objective, this research proposes alternatives to reduce electricity costs in pumping the water supply system in the municipality of Miranda, in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. The methodology was applied in a case study, which involved surveying of the water supply system in all neighborhoods of Miranda/MS, checking operation control, meeting demands, equipment in operation and the supply situation. With this information, several simulations were carried out, carrying out calculations, sizing pumps and equipment, in addition to researching the costs of pumping electricity for the systems. The study addressed three different scenarios for energy efficiency in the Miranda/MS water supply system. In scenario 01, the exchange of four pumps (EAB-001, EAT-001, EAT-002 and EAT-003) and the cost of pumping energy were investigated, with a technical and economic analysis of the proposed changes. In scenario 02, an energy diagnosis of the EAT-002 pump was carried out and the use of frequency inverters for the EAT-003 pump was implemented. In scenario 03, measures such as the replacement of pumps, the exchange of old asbestos cement networks for PVC, the installation of a new pipeline to optimize the system, the implementation of a new reservoir with greater capacity and the implementation of management strategies were investigated. power management. The analysis concluded that the best option is Scenario 03, as these results show that the simple payback has an estimated payback period of 15 years. Although this period is longer than the useful life of the components, it provides greater energy efficiency. When considering the discounted payback, with a discount rate of 7.5%, the project appears to be viable. It is important to note that, in this scenario, expansion of the system to serve a greater number of homes was also considered. Keywords: energy efficiency, water supply systems, cost reduction. |
