Resumo: | Through this study we present the inclusion of educational practices arising from the New School Movement, whose aim was to form the Brazilian youth in educational processes that make them autonomous individuals, according to the self government model. The period analyzed was the Vargas Era, 1930-1945, marked by a process of modernization in various fields. Regarding education, they opened more opportunities to incorporate new youth sectors, both in secondary education and a professional. The studied productions were raised in the Escola Normal de Belo Horizonte, in the Colégio Pedro II and the Instituto de Educação, both from the city of Rio de Janeiro. All were public education, being a reference in the segment which fell (secondary or normal). Educational practices were analyzed with student associations, known as school alumni, considered formal education spaces within the school, but working outside the classroom, and their features or expression brackets - guild of books, newspapers and student journals. Was prioritized study of authorial writing of the students recognizing that, according to the proposal of the New School Movement, the educational action should be the student under Professor. Considering the characteristic political context of the time, this was written in some mediated way, explicitly or not. The interpretation of various texts, such as news, poetry, short stories, essays, jokes, pranks, reports, meeting minutes, enabled the construction of profiles through which these students presented their understanding of being a student, girl, boy, black, Indian, white, Brazilian, and how they prepared themselves for adulthood. Stressing that were inserted into a social and political context marked by strong tensions between the right and the left, their writing production (authorized by the school) revealed affinities far right, with conservative characteristics, especially in a period when the country was undergoing intense modernization process of their social and economic framework. This writing has, by contrast, the understanding that there were thoughts and divergent positions by the students, even if they had not been in the authors analyzed sources. However, this paper mainly analyzes the authors students of the documents in question, leaving open the study of thoughts and divergent positions, as mentioned. |
