Argumentação: uma abordagem a partir da produção escrita de alunos de comunidades rurais de Itabira

Resumo: Based on the perception that students completing the final years of elementary school at the institution where I work have difficulties with regard to argumentation, this research presents a proposal of writing texts of varied genres. The work prioritized texts with contexts that, in fact, relevantly deal with subjects related to the communities of the rural area of Itabira, where the students in the study live. The objective of this research is to contribute to an increase in students' argumentative capacity based on the social practices of the specific group, and to mitigate the difficulties that exist with regard to written production. The research was developed at the Escola Municipal Antônio Camilo Alvim, in a class of the 7th grade. From the analysis of an initial questionnaire given to the students by their Portuguese teacher (the researcher), the notes of the teacher researcher's logbook, and the analysis of the material produced from the teaching project’s application, it is intended that the result will serve to improve pedagogical practices in Portuguese language classes. The texts produced were published in a blog created by the class that would be accessible to the whole school community.
