Resumo: | This study had as objective to evaluate the prevalence of anti-Leptospira agglutinins and anti-Neospora caninum antibodies in dairy cows, located in properties in the microregion of Sete Lagoas, Minas Gerais, in the year 2010. From December 2009 to July 2010, we collected 2915 serum samples from 151 dairy farms in the municipalities of Araçai, Caetanópolis, Cachoeira da Prata, Cordisburgo, Fortuna de Minas, Funilândia, Inhaúma, Jequitibá, Prudente de Morais, Paraopeba and Sete Lagoas. The technique used was the microscopic agglutination test forleptospirosis and a commercial ELISA kit for anti-Neospora caninum antibodies detection. All examines were performed at the Department of Preventive Veterinary Medicine, linked to the School of Veterinary Medicine, at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. As a result, 20.7% (CI95% = 17.1 24.3%) at single animal level and 80.8% (CI 95% = 73.8 87.7%) in herd level were positive to anti-Leptospira agglutinins. The serum varieties most prevalent were hardjo Hardjoprajiitino, 19.4%, lagoa, 19.3%, bolivia, 18.8% and hardjobovis 17.4%. The prevalence ofanti-Neospora caninum antibodies were 21.9% (CI 95% = 18.9 24.9%) at single animal level and 98.5% (IC 95% = 97.0 99.9%) at herd level. The agglutinins anti-Leptospira antibodies and anti-N. caninum are widely distributed in the properties of the microregion of Sete Lagoas,Minas Gerais. |
