Resumo: The present work aims to present a doctoral research that investigated one of the great urban developments present in the context of the city of Belo Horizonte, which is the duplication of the ring road. This is an ethnographic study of families in the process of removing the Ring Road in Belo Horizonte. The central objective of the research is to understand how the residents, who are in the situation of removal, experience this process and how they relate to the place where they live in the symbolic, political, community and citizens aspects. Other objectives of the research are: To verify how the Social Psychology has approached and contributed to the studies of the theme Housing and social participation; Analyze the participatory processes of the residents when the problem is removal and resettlement of people. This work is justified by the fact that we have few studies about the history of housing in Latin American Psychology and also in the city of Belo Horizonte. Therefore, the city needs to become an important subject in the scope of Public Policies, Social Psychology and everyday debates. The dynamics of cities reveal a series of psycho- political and social events, such as: constant violation of rights, violence, unemployment, criminalization of occupations. And it is these dilemmas that this project sought to research. For this, we understand the city as a device that maintains a series of social hierarchies and prejudices, so this research is justified, not only because we need to think of the city as an object of those who circulate in it, but as a producer of subjects and forms of Think and live. The city thus presents itself as a potent subject in everyday debates, and in the debates of social psychology.
