Resumo: Weaning is a critical stage in the production of pigs, being a phase that combine several stress factors for piglets and, consequently, there is a high incidence of enteric problems up to 14 days after weaning. The present work was conducted with two experiments, one evaluating the response (intestinal integrity and zootechnical parameters) of piglets treated with essential oils, probiotics and organic acids with and without Halquinol used as growth promoter. The first evaluating the response (intestinal integrity and zootechnical parameters) of piglets treated with essential oils, probiotics and organic acids with and without use of Halquinol as growth promoter. Where the animals treated with the growth promoter were more efficient in weight gain and feed conversion (P < 0.05), however there was no difference in the intestinal histomorphology. The second experiment was conducted to evaluate the influence of the complexity of the nursery rations on the performance and on the microbial community of piglets in the daycare period. There was no difference in performance between groups of animals. The changes in the microbiota were perceived between the ages of collection and there were no significant differences between the treatments. The use of Halquinol associated with essential oils in the nursery phase improves the performance of animals when compared to animals treated only with essential oils. The complexity of the diets affects the composition of the microbiota but does not affect final performance in the nursery phase.
