Resumo: | This study presents the crochet craft and related values to the knowhow of the artificer, focusing on the work of women crocheters from the southern regions of the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, by the intangible heritage bias, establishing interdisciplinarity with heritage, art, crafts and fashion. Assuming the principle that the valuation of the knowhow of a community contributes to the continuity of tradition, to the construction of identity and the affirmation of the individual and its culture, as well as to the valuation of the product coming from this craft, this study seeks to investigate in what way this knowhow can add value to a group of craftswomen from the southern regions of Minas Gerais. This investigation is presented from two analysis: the first is carried out through action research, as the researcher, a crocheter, analyzes the know-how in a group of artisans with whom she establishes partnerships in the production and sale of crocheted pieces; the second, through semi-structured interviews, directed to the group of women artisans of crochet, about the know-how, with emphasis on crafts, tradition, the feminine and the encounter. A bibliographic survey was conducted regarding this knowhow in the areas of intangible heritage and of this group of women, focusing on handcraft, tradition, feminine, and encounter. The results obtained point to the importance of the encounter between these women, favouring the exchange of knowledge and the permanence of tradition, as well as economic aspects related to income generation through the commercialization of artisanal production |
