This work involves research on the choice of science curriculum componentsfrom photographic records in the context of the school. Such records were performed by teachers, students of the degree Intercultural FaE UFMG. In this research the photo, along with their description and the importance of its content, it is used as a method for identifying relevant themes to the teaching of science in schools of origin of teachers, authors of the photos.This form may suggest topics to be included in the science curriculum of life and nature to the xakriabá school. This work brings significant contributions both to broaden the understanding of the importance of local context in choosing appropriate curricular themes the school community demands as to decrease the distance between the planning of activities of the teacher training course in the academic environment and the context of the schools.
