Resumo: Phosphorus is an essential macronutrient for the development of plants, which is not found in sufficient amounts in Brazilian soils, justifying its large consumption in the country. The traditional phosphates fertilizers are produced from rocks bearing phosphate minerals. In this context, the calcined bovine bone is evaluated as a new alternative of source of phosphorous for the synthesis of phosphates fertilizer of high solubility. The present work studied the solubilization of the phosphorus present in the calcined powder using sulfuric acid. Further, the characterization of bovine ash and the fertilizer produced was carried out. The results showed that the process is very fast and the stability was observed in 10 minutes without the influence of solid particle size. The properties of the calcined are suitable for its application as a phosphate fertilizer of slow release, and , especially, the product obtained presents characteristics which makes it suitable for application as phosphate fertilizer of high solubility as well as triple superphosphate.
