Resumo: In this dissertation, the first thirty-eight 20th century minutes (1907-1916) of the Historical and Geographical Institute of Minas Gerais were edited, in a facsimile fashion. Initially, the history of the founding of this institution, representing the society of Minas Gerais, was resumed. Following, the theoretical-methodological principles of the historic sociolinguistic, which must guide the work of the linguistic researcher regarding gathering, selecting and analyzing historical sources of the Brazilian Portuguese in simple past synchronicity, are presented and can be seen in Conde Silvestre (2007), Hernàndez-Campoy e Schilling (2012). In addition, it was sought to substantiate the scope of this dissertation in the context of textual criticism, by adopting the diplomatic facsimile edition of the minutes (SPINA, 1977; LOBO, 2001; CAMBRAIA, 2005; PERICÃO E FARIA, 2008), aiming at creating a basis, in historical samples conservatively edited, for future linguistic studies about the cult Brazilian Portuguese. Afterwards, not only a brief codex description of the book containing the manuscript minutes is presented, but also a concise paleographic analysis of those which effectively wrote the thirty-eight minutes, distributed in thirty-six numbered fólios (recto and verso), which, in turn, correspond to sixty-two fully edited fólios. In conclusion, the edited facsimile minutes are presented, accompanied by their respective transcriptions, which were conducted by conservative exposure criteria of the brazilian manuscripts.
