This research starts from the presentation of a clinical extract to answer the following question: could the adolescent use virtuality, as a support to fantasy, to regulate the encounter with the other sex? To make this reflection, it works with psychoanalytic theory, focusing on the notion of fantasy, in three chapters. The first, which is titled "From reality to Real: fantasy in Freud and Lacan from the perspective of truth", addresses the conception of fantasy in Freud and Lacan, relating it to the notion of truth. The second, "From the awakening of the Real of puberty to the stabilization of reality by fantasy", discusses the logical time of adolescence as a moment of reorientation of fantasy. Finally, the third, "Approximation between fantasy and virtuality: are there consequences?", it presents some similarities between virtual reality and psychic reality to analyze the relationships between fantasy and virtuality. As a conclusion, he considers that the adolescent can both use virtuality to avoid the encounter with the other sex, as can use it as support for the reupdate of fantasy, fundamental for the crossing of adolescence and the encounter with the other sex.
