This study aims to investigate the relations between art and leisure from the performance to point what kind of understanding about leisure such a perspective can provide. Initially, we conducted a recognition of dialogue that the leisure field has established with the field of art from three main sources: Licere's magazine articles (1998-2011), the entry "art" taken from the Critical Dictionary of Leisure, and chapter Melo (2007) "Art and Leisure: Challenges to break the abyss." The speeches are problematized from the performance and authors in the field of art that investigate the spectator's experience on contemporaneity . The dissertation also presents the theoretical articulation of dialogues built between performance and pleasure with two artistic experiences of performance, experienced by the author of the research, either in the position of the viewer and in the position as artist-proposer.
