Resumo: | This dissertation was initially thought from a clinical case whose landmarks were the assymptomatic form of presentation, as well the patient´s difficulties to deal with free association. These two obstacles evoked many questions concerning the psychoanalytic theory and treatment, mainly the analysis entrance and the treatment direction. To achieve our purpose, two cases arising from the psychoanalytic literature were useful to illuminate the clinical problems and provide guidelines that can exist to the treatment management. If we search the sources of the concept of character in psychoanalysis history, we find in it an important theoretical device to investigate the manifestations of the psychic suffering that does not include the symptom as a decider factor. Character presumes to be more archaic than the symptom, then it emerges before its formation, in a circuit where the drive achieves satisfaction in action itself. According to some authors, the treatment direction has to be headed toward the rectification of the drive circuit, as well to the construction of an interpretable symptom that links up the unconscious. Furthermore, the treatment direction has also, as a perspective, the deciphering to language terms of what takes places as jouissance and, moreover, the rectification of an alienated position expressed in terms of I do not think toward a new position expressed in terms of I am not. |
