In this study the effect of soaking and coiling temperatures on the mechanical properties and ferrite grain size of a hot rolled and cold rolled and annealed Nb-HSLA steel was evaluated. The results did not show any effect of the soaking temperature on the ferrite grain size for the two conditions of the material: hot rolled or cold rolled and annealed. However, a decrease in the mechanical properties of the steel with theincrease of the coiling temperature was noticed. That effect can be associated with a precipitate coarsening since no variation of the ferrite grain size was observed for the various coiling temperatures evaluated.
