Resumo: This study aims to investigate the theater architecture and stage space as key elements to establish the theatrical language of Grupo Galpão, from Belo Horizonte, and its dialogue with the audience. Starting with the concepts of "space" and "place" and with the notion of architecture as a space where men live and the theater as a meetinng point, we aim to investigate the stage spaces and their relationship to the physical place where a play is mounted. We shall also analyze some plays of GrupoGalpão that are significant in terms of space treatment in various theatrical architectures: public spaces, conventional and alternative places. This research also aims to show that Galpão transits with great skill and fluidity in different architectures, with the same control over the performing space - although recognized and valued as a "street theater" group. We shall seek to understand how the characteristics and thespecific ways of working, thinking and doing theater of Grupo Galpão, its organization and manner of acting, establish a particular theatrical language that adds value and contributes to the creation and expression of stage spaces.
