Resumo: | This dissertation seeks to list economic and political processes of the Federal and State governments of Minas Gerais and mining companies, seeking to understand how necropolitics, which subjugates life to the power of death, is built in mining territories. Elements of the Brazilian Political Economy and the option for mineral extraction as a developmental sector are explained, and Minas Gerais at the epicenter of the conflict, suffering the greatest disaster-crimes in recent years involving tailings dams. The argument exposes the consequences of the way the projects are implemented and operated and the ruptures, resettlements and the effects of the invisible mud, which says under living (or surviving) in face of the insecurity of a possible dam failure. The method is based on the systematization of information through lines of analysis that aim to explain the gears that build necropolitics. The data are: reports from various public sectors, associations and companies themselves, narratives of those affected by mining and the media, mapping of dam failure spots and socioeconomic indices of the municipalities of Barão de Cocais, Brumadinho, Mariana and Ouro Preto, thus understanding the production of the city as a consequence of a structured power game, which takes on an even more violent character in the intercurrence of the Covid-19 Global Pandemic, fragmenting the territory, making people vulnerable in a collective and individual way, imposing systematically, even in different municipalities, actions that configure their own mode of operation, which result in the implementation of necropolitics. |
