Resumo: In this study, we analyze the numeracy practices of students of Youth and Adult Education, forged by the relationship of students with educational materials used during their math classes of the second stage of basic education. In the episodes we've selected, we highlight practices constituted in the appropriation of discourses about mathematics teaching, instructional materials and the learning of mathematics, dialoguing with studies that assist us in the reflection and discussion of those topics. Our analysis points to the complexity of emotions, knowledge, judgments, and predictions of events involved in the classroom and focuses on the manifestations of adult education students and their teachers as discursive practices, in whichstudents and educators are constituted as learning subjects in relation to school practices and how those practices are sensed, triggered orsuppressed, and narrated by these subjects.
