Resumo: | Achieving a high degree of proficiency in the performance of a musical instrument requires learning motor skills that aims at, through practice, permanent improvement. This process can be less efficient due to the lack of scientific basis observed in traditional teaching methods. Outside the realm of tradition, the interdisciplinary dialogue between the Kinesiology and Music Performance may have great potential to address different issues not yet properly investigated in the literature of the double bass. Thus, joint actions and muscle groups of the left and right upper limbs of the double bassist are evaluated for amplitude, speed and direction of movements, as well as the sequential steps taking place in their realization. The descriptions and analyzes were carried out departing from observation of audiovisual recordings of the performance of an advanced double bass player (with over 10 years of practice), executing previously selected movement patterns. Thus, the knowledge and application of kinesiology principles in double bass performance may help students and professionals learn body movements more efficiently, improving the musical and technical learning process. |
