Resumo: It was performed a retrospective observative study with the objective to evaluate the epidemiologic profile of the American Cutaneous Leishmaniasis and its seasonality in the period from 1989 to 1995 by using data from notified cases to the Metropolitan Regional Administration of the Health Bureau of the State of Minas Gerais (DMS). It was observed an ascendent tendency of the disease and a seasonality during the dry seanson. The median age of cases was 35 years old and it was not evidenced statistical significant differences between sex in all age groups. A statistical significant correlation between the population size and number of cases was verihed but not between the ruralpopulation and the prevalence of the disease in the countries. The notified cases showed the Belo Horizonte and Sabara countries as epicenter and the attended cases were mainly in these two countries. The results indicate that the disease shows an urban pattem and that is occurrence is related to peridomicile areas. The health public chain was responsible for the majority of notifications wich showed the secondary, level of complexity as a main entrace in the health system
